Engine rebuilds for Triple-M cars
In running cars, over the past fifty years, I have come to the conclusion that reliability is built into the engine by doing it properly from the outset. The cars were built originally with perhaps the thought that they might run for five years or so, after which they would be scrapped. We are now past seventy years, and still the cars are there to be run! However in the intervening years materials have improved, while original parts have passed their engineering useful life, and continued use of old, fatigued parts can only result in failure, which can prove very expensive to repair... we no longer have access to the cheap parts available in scrap yards, which I and my colleagues used to garner in the fifties and sixties. New parts are expensive, and because they are manufactured in small quantities are subject to mechanical variations which may not allow for a direct replacement.
I can offer free advice about how to restore your power unit most effectively, and can recommend you people whom I know will carry out the work for you to a high standard.
I am prepared to run a course on engine rebuild, one-to-one, for those interested. Charges are:
1. Stripping and inspection of components: One day at £165
2. Reassembly of engine: Two days at £250.
3. Setting valve timing and setting up: Half day at £95
4. In car engine tuning: Half day at £95
If there are other subjects you would like covered, these can be arranged.
